 Echo Trades and compilations
Hey y'all! Sorry if this has been covered already, but....
Do we know if Echo is gonna' be collected in a larger edition? I hate to buy these little TPBs if there's just going to be a larger, nicer edition coming down the pike. They're rather expensive for rather small volumes!

Hi vicar! Long time no see.
You've got an interesting question there. I don't know the answer, but I think it's not impossible he'll turn the entire story into a two-part book or something.

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
I'm quite sure I heard Terry saying (in a ComicGeekSpeak-podcast ?) that he plans to publish Echo as a hardcover omnibus-edition like SiP when the whole series is finished. But that won't stop me from buying the floppies and eventually the omnibus

I actually find that the monthly issues are too short to enjoy, so I try to wait 2-3 months so I can get a chunk all at once. Sooner or later, I'm sure that they'll be collected, but I don't wanna' wait 5 years!

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
I prefer reading them in book form too, but then I'm terribly impatient and don't think I could wait for the whole thing to come out before finding what happens next. So, yeah...comics first, THEN I'll probably re-read the whole series when it comes out in graphic novel form.

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
I tend to get the comic, and then the trade book, and eventually when it comes into a larger volume I will get it that way too. I like having it in book form, but I dont' want to wait 3 months for the tradebook to come out. I too like to keep up with the story as it happens and then I go back and reread it in the collection trade books.
I wish I could afford the omnibus of SIP.

Welcome to the forum Echo_Wolf!
You're not the only one who operates that way. I know there are several forum members who did the same with Strangers in Paradise. As far as I know Terry himself sold out on the Omnibus, but they are still available. Too bad you can't afford it. Maybe some day?

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
Yea the Omnibus guess won't be too big for Echo just wonder what "extras" might be in it.
I did see a copy of the SIP one on ebay for like 300!
I do hope to get my hands on the ECHO one. now that I am more in the loop for this comic i can stay on top of it

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
The first TPB, Moon Lake, was very low res on every page where Terry added halftone shading, about half of them. I'd give those pages a 5. TPBs 2 through 6 are fine, pages are 9 or 10's. I bought the Complete Edition Softcover and while the Moon Lake halftone pages are now 8's, so are the rest of them, eventually even the formerly crisp 10's. The halftone is a lower dpi so I suspect the book was intended to be a pocket book and/or on lower quality paper. It's getting returned to Amazon.
Was there a corrected reprint of Moon Lake? Does the Collected Hardcover have these problems? It's not the disaster SiP 87 was which required damage control on the blog, but bad enough to take me out of tthe experience. Place the same pages next to each other and see where your eye is drawn. It's been a bad year for low res scan lines, Rasl pocket book one, the Collected Bloom County, now this. Feels like the last gasp before digital.

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
Now that my Echo Complete Edition Softcover is back in some Amazon warehouse waiting for a less discerning reader, can anyone suggest the best way to read issues 1-5? Was there a Moon Lake TPB reprint which fixed the horribly pixellated pages, or do I have to buy the issues? I'd be happy to rebuy the series with the Complete Edition Hardcover if it matched the best scans available, but I fear it's no different inside than the Softcover.

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
I don't know, but from reading your posts I think buying the single issues might be your best bet.

Terry Moore recently announced he's in cahoots with ComiXology. Have you checked to see if those books are available digitally?

 Re: Echo Trades and compilations
I'd be happy to buy the Complete Echo hardcover (not on Amazon) if I knew it had the highest quality pages. I'll probably ask Terry, also if there's a Moon Lake reprint. Not ready to replace the bookshelf!
