Post Song for final issue?
There's been a number of very impressive scenes in SiP that were amplified and sometimes made overwhelming by the accompanying music.

Like Katchoo at Francine's Wedding with Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" playing over it, or a bruised up David listening to Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" playing in his mind over and over again.

What song or music do you "hear" when reading the last issue?
(A link to a song or video would be nice, so we can try it!)

Only yesterday I heard this song in the french short-movie "200.000 fantomes" (by Jean-Gabriel Périot).
Today I found the song on youtube and listened to it right after reading #90.
It immediately struck me as the perfect song for the grand finale of Strangers in Paradise.

Get out your copy of #90 and try it:

Especially the fifth and sixth verse (starting at 2:50) really got to me. *sniff*

Explosions In The Sky - "It's Natural To Be Afraid"

I had the chance of listening to it while I read the issue, and I believe that it increased the issue's magnificence 1000 times over...

The thing that stick out to me was the title of the song and how Katchoo is beginning her new life with Francine, and how a pregnancy can make someone afraid. Hence I'm sure Francine would say to Katchoo, "It's natural to be afraid."

The song is purely instrumental and clocks in at 13:24 (You barely notice it go by.)

This song is the only song I ever listened to that made me cry when I listened to it out of the sheer beauty it delivers.

At this point, I'm thinking maybe Colin Hay's Overkill or Beautiful World. Maybe both.

Overkill

Beautiful World

Or gods, how did this not occur to me before! Thematically it doesn't fit so well, but Gary Jules' version of Mad World is a gorgeous song, and would be perfect in its' own way.

I am not an expert when it comes to correlating music to story. So I will leave that task to those whose musical palates are more refined. I thought it was worth mentioning in this thread that Terry will be including a CD with the colorized SiP omnibus. It will include his own music. If you haven't listened to the recent Comic Geek Speak Interview that I mentioned in another thread, you really should. Terry talks for about an hour and SiP music is just one of many topics that he discusses. The mp3 audio file can be heard here or downloaded on itunes (search for Comic Geek Speak at the iTunes store and download episode 263). It is a long interview so it might take a while to download. It is definitely worth it though.

I can't find the Louis Armstrong version, but THAT LUCKY OLD SUN came to mind.

Also a song used in A LIE OF THE MIND that I used in a slideshow gift to the cast. EVANGELINE by The Red Clay Ramblers.

(this is about as "country" as I get)

:) QuickTime worked for me or you could try listening to it in iTunes, also free :)
Reminder, you might have to wait for it to finish downloading before you can attempt to play it.

Update: I figured out how to create a direct link to the previously mentioned CGS interview. If you have iTunes click here. Double clicking on the file will play it or you can click the get episode button (you might have to scroll to the right to see it) to download it.

COOL! I love that Colin Hay song and haven't heard it in years!
I'm not real familiar with 'Scrubs' but that was pretty funny.

I haven't put any thematic music with the finale yet. I'll check out the previous suggestions, though.

Try right clicking, and "Save Link As" It will probably work then. The thing is, is that I could only find like 30 second clips of the song on the internet, and I wanted to let you hear the whole thing, so I uploade it to my fileden, where you can upload full versions of songs.

Try, it the way I mentioned earlier. If that doesn't work, you might have to download it from iTunes, or somewhere else... :(

Maybe for the series as a whole rather than the last issue but: Free Hugs!
